Stray & Wild Animals

Pet owners in Lochbuie are required to keep their pet in a fence or on a leash at all times.

To report a stray or wild animal, please contact the Lochbuie Police Department at (303) 659-1395 and be ready to provide: 

  1. The address, and
  2. A description of the animal.

Animal Welfare

If you believe an animal is being neglected, mistreated, abused, or otherwise not properly cared for by its owner, please contact the Lochbuie Police Department at (303) 659-1395 and be ready to provide:

  1. The correct address,
  2. A description of the animal(s), and
  3. Details of the complaint.

Animal-Inflicted Injury

Animal-inflicted injuries should be reported immediately. If possible, confine the animal first and then call the appropriate number.

Injury Occurs Within Lochbuie Town Limits

  • Report the injury to Lochbuie Police Department at (303) 659-1395 or Weld County Sheriff's Office at (970) 350-9600

Injury Occurs Outside Lochbuie Town Limits

  • Report the injury to the Weld County Sheriffs Office at (970) 350-9600

Please have the following information ready for whoever answers your call:

  1. Address and location of where the animal can be found
  2. Description of the breed, size, color, and any distinct markings on the animal
  3. Where the animal may live
  4. Confirmation of whether the animal is wearing a collar or tag

An officer will be dispatched to your location to complete an animal bite report.
