Home > Departments > Police > Police Reserves Lochbuie Police ReservesThe Police Reserve Unit was established as an auxiliary branch of the Patrol Services Division and is comprised of citizen volunteers. A position not taken lightly, Reserve Police Officers must make a significant time commitment to the department and must meet the same qualifications and go through the same hiring process as paid peace officers. Candidates will also graduate from the Police Academy and complete a full 200 hour field training program with a commissioned Lochbuie Police Officer. Reserve Police Officer - A state certified Level III A reserve peace officer who is assigned to general law enforcement duties and whose authority may include the full range of powers and duties of a paid peace officer. Training Requirements:In addition to obtaining P.O.S.T certification and going through the Field Training and Evaluation Program, candidates must complete the high liability in-service training requirements that are established for regular police department officers on an annual basis. In order to maintain membership in the Reserves, officers are also required to: complete all required recruit and applicable in-service training, maintain all required department certifications (i.e. CPR training), attend all scheduled Reserve meetings and training activities, and contribute a minimum of 20 hours of volunteer service per month to the Lochbuie Police Department.
