Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When should I dial 911?
A: If you have any emergency dial 911, but do not dial 911 for non emergency calls such as dogs barking, loud music or general questions. If you do accidentally call 911, please tell the dispatcher it is NOT an emergency and call on the non emergency line. If you call 911 and hang up, A POLICE OFFICER WILL COME TO YOUR LOCATION and make sure you are ok. In the event you cannot talk when calling 911, stay on the line, the police will come. ________________________________________ Q: How do I obtain a copy of a police report?
A: You may come in to the Police Department and request any public report. ________________________________________ Q: I got a ticket, where do I go for court?
A: Our court office is located at 703 Weld County Road 37 Building “B”. Please do not go to the police department for court. ________________________________________ Q: What is the curfew in Lochbuie?
A: 10:00pm - 5:00am are the hours of curfew for juveniles in the Town. ________________________________________ Q: What can I do about barking/nuisance dogs?
A: Document the times the dogs are barking, if it is a one time issue, try talking to your neighbor and let them know the dog is barking. Often, the owners are not aware the dog barks when they are gone. If it becomes an on going issue and nuisance, contact the police non emergency number and have an officer speak to you for further options such as a complaint. ________________________________________ Q: I just got a ticket from a Lochbuie Police Officer, what happens next?
A: The judge is the only person that can handle the ticket after it is written. There is one exception, and that is if you receive a ticket that is a mail in ticket. Otherwise, you will be required to come to your court date and talk to the judge or town prosecutor who will gladly answer any questions you may have.
